Everton Ratings: West Brom

Howard: 7

His first clean sheet of the season and even though West Brom had a lack of clear cut chances, he did nothing wrong. Much needed performance.

Coleman: 6

Didn’t show as much going forward here but is always a threat and always provided an option. Pretty solid if unspectacular game.

Stones: 7

Stones plays and we get a clean sheet. Coincidence or not? That remains to be seen. He needed to come into the team and Distin missing out enabled that. He should be there to stay.

Jagielka: 6

The clean sheet helped but Everton looked worried in that first half and Jagielka was at the heart of that. His place could be under threat when Distin comes back.

Baines: 7

Good game for Baines after having a torrid time vs Chelsea. Maybe the international break gave his game some confidence.

Barry: 6

The midfield really struggled in the first half as we couldn’t control the match. Was much better in the 2nd half and was able to dictate play.

McCarthy: 5

He isn’t having a great season and doesn’t seem able to cover the same amount of ground that he did last season. The game passed him by for large periods.

Mirallas: 7

Didn’t influence much going forward in the first half but was brilliant in the second. Deserved his goal for his performances in the season as a whole where he has been our best player along with Naismith.

McGeady: 5

Largely absent. Had high hopes for him going into the match after his performances for Ireland but it was another typically frustrating game.

Naismith: 5

After running his blood to water for Scotland, Naismith had clearly his worst game of the season. Nothing went right for him today, hopefully just one of those games.

Lukaku: 8

All Everton fans will be happy with the goal, not just because it was a beautiful curler from outside the box, but it was his first goal as a permanent Everton player. Good performance all round.

Osman: 7

Did well when he came on and nearly finished off what would of been a wonderful goal.

Besic: 6

Pretty pointless giving a rating but saw out the game. Needless yellow card but didn’t really matter.
